A battle well-fought: Africa University Students elect representatives

I am thankful to God for letting me participate, and for letting me contribute in my own capacity. Feeling blessed that, most candidates who won can turn back to appreciate my effort and suggestion.

After weeks of ardent interviews, campaigns and debates, the Africa University Students Representatives Council elections stylized as the SRC elections has ended successfully. The elections took place on Monday, 13th of April 2015 and had over 80% of the students involved.

Although many students complained on why we had lectures on elections day, it only occurred within the hours of 9am and 5pm allowing flexibility and good time management. Therefore, lectures were never a problem. The turn up was massive and the AU student community exercised their franchise.

electoral Campaign A second year student, Ajet Hosea had this to say about the elections. “So far, this is the most interesting and entertaining elections we have had. Many campaign strategies such as celebrity recommendations, Video appeal and billboard-like posters have been introduced. I feel AU students have stepped up in search of a real change”.
